Weak trend prevails in China methionine market
 
 
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending August 1.
 
A handful of sellers held prices firm, but most were willing to negotiate prices of methionine while sales remained slow.

China's methionine imports shrank 4% on-month during June, totaling 14,875 tonnes, while prices dropped to new historic low levels. Exports grew 31% to 4,020 tonnes.

For liquid methionine, price quotes were unchanged at RMB17.50/kg.
