Chile, European mission to visit Brazil meatpackers
Chilean animal health inspectors arrived in Brazil on Monday to inspect 14 meatpacking facilities between February 27 and March 9, the Brazilian Agriculture Ministry said in a press release late Monday (Feb 26).
Included in the visit are inspections of Cargill, Sadia and Perdigao chicken and pork meat processing facilities.
Chilean inspectors will judge whether those facilities can export chicken and pork meat to Chile.
A team of food veterinary inspectors from the European Union also arrived in Brazil Monday. EU agents will discuss Brazil's toxic residue control policies.
