JSR Genetics Ltd, which specialises in pig genetics, was awarded the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) Gold Standard and is believed to be one of the first agricultural companies in the UK to be awarded the Standard.

"We have held the Investor in People Standard since 1993 and three years ago set ourselves a goal to achieve gold in 2012," says JSR Chairman Tim Rymer. "During that time 18 new people initiatives have been implemented to help link our HR policy with our strategic goals and operational plans. I believe a well-thought out strategy implemented by well-trained and motivated people is the key to success."

IIP Gold sets out a framework for evaluating how well a company connects strategy and operational planning with its people policy. IIP specialise in assisting businesses who wish to improve their performance by supporting and motivating their workforce. The IIP Framework is outcome-focused and outlines what companies need to achieve in order to reach their performance targets, allowing them to decide themselves how they will reach their goals.
