Feed millers expanded inventories cautiously as the bird flu epidemic showed signs of subsiding. In Europe, prices of methionine for Q2 2017 deliveries were flat in the range of EUR2.45-2.50/kg although one producer lifted price quotes.

Demand for methionine stayed weak as feed producers limited production although the poultry sector has shown signs of recovering. In Europe, prices of methionine for Q2 2017 deliveries stayed stable in the range of EUR2.45-2.50/kg.
