China Live Hog Weekly: Prices dip further, down 10% in four weeks (week ended Jul 7, 2016)
Hog prices dropped a whopping 4.4% as demand for pork weakened while supplies increased. Over the week, 7,668 tonnes of pork carcass were transacted in the major wholesale centres of China, up by 1.3% compared with the previous week.

US tightens meat-safety rules, cuts down foodborne illnesses
The US has seen a 12% drop in foodborne illnesses associated with meat, poultry and processed egg products from 2009 to 2015 due to significant updates to its food safety system since the 1950s, the US Department of Agriculture said.
