Russia to ban chlorine-treated poultry

Russia will ban imports of chlorine-treated poultry starting January 2010.

The new ruling would not involve any poultry produced in the EU, which had banned chlorine-treated poultry. Earlier on, Russian officials said several major US producers had agreed to comply to the new standard.
