54th African swine fever case reported in South Korea
A positive African swine fever (ASF) case was discovered in dead wild boar between the borders of South and North Korea, reported KBS World.
South Korea's National Institute of Environmental Research confirmed the positive ASF case on December 29, 2019, which was discovered by a local resident two days prior at Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province.
Quarantine measures have been implemented and the dead, infected wild boar has been buried.
This is the 54th confirmed ASF case in the country and 18th confirmed case in Yeoncheon since ASF was first discovered in South Korea on September 17, 2019.
