Avangard starts poultry production in Ukraine region
 

 

The first phase of the poultry production unit in the village of Skhidne, Bilozirka district, Kherson region has been launched by Avangard Holding on December 26.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by Mykola Kostiak, head of Kherson regional state demonstration, Anatolii Khomenko, deputy head of Kherson regional state administration, and Iryna Marchenko, chief financial officer at the Avangard company.

 

According to the report of the company, the capacity of the first phase of young poultry zone is 1.5 million hens, the total youngster population by the end of 2012 will make up 2.5 million hens. Besides, the company plans to commission zone of laying hens with the capacity of three million hens in 2012.

 

The total project envisions construction of new poultry farm and a complex on the basis of the feed plant with the capacity of 60 tonnes of feed an hour, slaughtering workshop with the capacity of 6,000 hens an hour and also a grain elevator for 300,000 tonnes of grain.

 

A biogas plant from litter and waste production will meet the needs of the complex in its own electricity by 100%, as well as will make possible to supply some excess energy to the national power grid at "green" tariffs.

 

After commissioning the poultry factory the joint annual egg production at the AVIS poultry (the village of Humenets, Kamianets-Podilskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region) and at the Chernobaivka poultry plant will amount to three billion items. Avangard plans egg output of 8.2 billion items as of 2013.

 

The Avangard agricultural holding is Ukraine's market leader in production of eggs and egg products: in 2010 the market share of industrial egg production reached 43%, egg products 79%, while export of eggs and egg products totalled 84% (52% of eggs and 97% of egg products).

 

As the news earlier reported, Avangard increased egg output by 83% or 1.3 billion items to 2.9 billion items in the first half year 2011 compared with the same period last year. In 2010 the egg output was up 22% to 4.420 billion items versus the year before. The Avangard egg production facilities are situated in 14 regions of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
