Taiwan Buys 46,500 MT US Soybeans
Taiwan's Breakfast Soybean Procurement Association in Kaohsiung bought 46,500 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans in a tender Tuesday, said a BSPA Kaohsiung official.
Louis Dreyfus was the supplier, at a cost-and-freight premium of 179 U.S. cents a bushel to the Chicago Board of Trade's May 2004 soybean contract, said the official.
Shipment dates will be Feb. 16 to March 1 from the Pacific Northwest, he said.
In early December, BSPA Kaohsiung bought 56,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans in a tender from Bunge Ltd. at a cost-and-freight premium of 199.26 U.S. cents/bu to CBOT May. Shipment dates in that deal will be Jan. 8-22 from the U.S. Gulf.
