China Lysine: Market stays strong on tight availability (week ended Dec 28, 2020)
Strong corn prices, in conjunction with high freight charges, prompted lysine producers to stand firm on prices. Meanwhile, production of lysine was limited due to the aggravating pandemic even as feed producers started to place orders in preparation for the upcoming New Year market.
Transacted prices of 98.5-percent lysine in China were stable to higher in the range of RMB8-9.60/kg.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine in Europe were in the range of EUR1.30-1.50/kg.
Supplies of lysine are tight, particularly those of 98.5% varieties. With demand set to expand and the costs of production high, lysine market will remain firm in the coming period.
