FrieslandCampina organic guaranteed price for January sees increase by US$1.93

The FrieslandCampina organic guaranteed price for January increases by €1.58 (US$1.93) compared to December (€45.17).

The increase is based on the expectation that the milk prices of the reference companies will increase moderately. No corrections have been included in the organic guaranteed price for the month of January. However, this was the case in the organic guaranteed price for the previous month, FrieslandCampina said.

This month, the protein value is €750.04 (US$917.02), the fat value at €375.02 (US$458.51) and the lactose value at €75 (US$91.69) per 100 kilos.

The FrieslandCampina organic guaranteed price applies to 100 kg of milk with standard contents protein (3.57%), fat (4.42%) and lactose (4.53%), exclusive of VAT.

The amounts stated apply to an average delivery of 550,000kg of milk on an annual basis.

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price is part of the milk price FrieslandCampina pays on an annual basis to member dairy farmers. Every month, the guaranteed price is estimated based on the development of the published milk prices of the reference companies.

On the basis of the monthly organic guaranteed price, a member dairy farmer receives an organic milk price. The milk price is based on the fat, protein and lactose content of the milk supplied by the relevant dairy farm.

The difference between the guaranteed price and the milk price is caused by the settlement of fixed costs of €0.29 (US$0.35).

In addition, there are supplements and/or changes depending on the season.
