EU, Japan, Morocco, Singapore, and Tunisia ban Ukrainian poultry imports due to bird flu outbreak

Vladyslava Mahaletska, the head of Ukraine's State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service (Food Safety Service) said the European Union (EU), Japan, Morocco, Singapore, and Tunisia have temporarily suspended Ukrainian poultry imports nationwide due to the discovery of a new bird flu outbreak, Ukrainian News reported.

Mahaletska also said Belarus, Hong Kong, and Kazakhstan have suspended poultry meat imports from Ukraine, but only from the Mykolaiv region.

The Food Safety Service reported several bird flu outbreaks in the Mykolaiv region in December.

The European Union and several other countries have already restricted imports of Ukrainian poultry meat, poultry meat products, and thermally unprocessed poultry products earlier this year after a bird flu outbreak was reported in the Vinnytsia region.
