Poland detects new BSE case
Poland's veterinary service said a new case of mad cow disease, or BSE, was recently detected in a farm animal in the country's north-west. The infected animal was put down.
The farm had a total of 18 animals of which eight were determined to have been at risk of exposure to the disease and culled, the service said.
Poland has reported over 22 BSE cases since the country started testing for the disease in 2001.
