Taiwan Looking To Buy 30,000-60,000 MT US Soybeans

Taiwan's Breakfast Soybean Procurement Association in Kaohsiung is seeking offers by 0700 GMT Tuesday to make a purchase of 30,000 to 60,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans in a tender, said a BSPA Kaohsiung official.

The association is seeking shipment dates of Feb. 1-15 from the U.S. Gulf, or Feb. 16 to March 1 from the Pacific Northwest, he said.

Early December, BSPA Kaohsiung bought 56,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans in a tender from Bunge Ltd. at a cost-and-freight premium of 199.26 U.S. cents a bushel to the Chicago Board of Trade's May 2004 soybean contract. Shipment dates in that deal will be Jan. 8-22 from the U.S. Gulf.
