China bans poultry imports from Ireland due to H5N8 bird flu

 
 

China's General Administration of Customs said poultry imports have been banned from Ireland due to highly pathogenic H5N8 bird flu discovered there, Reuters reported.

 

GACC said the ban, effective December 25, was implemented to protect China's animal husbandry industry.

 

China has reported a H5N8 bird flu outbreak among swans in Shanxi province, north of the country.
