China methionine prices stay stable despite light demand

Prices of methionine remained flat during the week ending December 25.

Pre-New Year buying slowed as most feed producers, who were prudent have stocked sufficient inventories. Nonetheless, methionine traders and producers were reluctant to lower prices with profits limited.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were softer in the range of RMB21.50-23/kg.

With demand limited and supplies plentiful, methionine market will stay soft.
