Russian pork producers to export 170,000 tonnes of products by end of 2022

Russia's pork producers will export about 170,000 tonnes of products, by the end of 2022.

Yuri Kovalev, general director of the National Union of Pork Producers, reported that pork exports began to recover in the second half of the year as logistics problems were resolved and the price situation was normalised.

He noted that this year the structure of Russian exports of pork products has changed significantly. While, previously, countries in Southeast Asia accounted for about 50% of total exports, their share has since decreased to 30% this year. The decrease in exports to Vietnam and Hong Kong was partially compensated by the growth of pork supplies to Eurasian Economic Union countries, primarily Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Exports to Belarus in the first nine months of this year more than doubled, exceeding 55,000 tonnes.
