Industry players attend launch of voluntary organisation Vietnam Pig Operation

More than 50 scientists, managers, businessmen, and manufacturers attended the launching event of Vietnam Pig Operation (VPO) in Vietnam, marking a turning point in promoting the sustainable development of the domestic pig industry.

VPO is a voluntary organisation established by organisations and individuals operating in the fields of science, production, business, and services in the Vietnamese pig industry.

VPO has also approved its principles and goals; it is created to unify members in the industry, protect members' legitimate rights and interests, and support and share resources. Furthermore, VPO will also overlook cooperation in improving labor efficiency as well as the quality, value, and competitiveness of the Vietnamese pig industry in domestic and foreign markets.

At the event, stakeholders determined December 12 to be as the official inauguration date of VPO.

The organisation's managing board comprises 13 members.

In the first six months of 2025, VPO will organise science and technology activities, targeting the pig industry community, including "Seminar on African Pig Fever Vaccine: Current Status and Potential" on March 23, 2025 in Dong Nai, and the first Vietnam Conference on Pig Sciences and Technologies (PST 2025) on May 1, 2025.
