African swine fever strikes Guangdong, China
China - already impacted by recent outbreaks of African swine fever in the country - has been hit yet again by another outbreak of the disease, the Chinese agriculture ministry reported on December 25.
The latest incident, according to Reuters, occurred in Huizhou, a city in the southern province of Guangdong, and had caused the deaths of 11 pigs on a farm with 90 pigs.
Since early August this year, China reported more than 90 cases of African swine fever.
