Russia to export seafood through Fish Exchange from 2009

Russia announced it would solely export fish through an exchange starting January 1, 2009, Federal Fishery Agency Director Andrei Krainy said.

Krainy informed that the entire exports of seafood would go through the Russian Fish Exchange.

The trading will start in the second half of 2008. There will be trading floors in Moscow, Vladivostok, Murmansk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kaliningrad and Sakhalin - either Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk or Nevelsk.

Trade on the domestic market will be conducted between companies, while exports will go exclusively through the exchange, the official said.
