Russia distributes 25 percent of meat tariff rate quota for 2008
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade distributed 25 percent of beef, pork and poultry tariff rate quotas (TRQ) for 2008.
The remainder of the quota will be distributed in March 2008 based on full-year import data, according to Kimberly Svec and Mikhail Maksimenko in the USDA Foreign and Argicultural Services GAIN Report.
Russia's 25-percent allocations were based on January - September 2007 import data by individual companies, provided by the Federal Customs Service.
The total 2008 allocation for the US is 18,300 tonnes for frozen beef, 49,800 tonnes for pork and 901,400 tonnes for poultry.
