China meat output climbs despite adverse factors
China's livestock industry maintained an overall increase in output after overcoming cost hikes, periodic fluctuation and plague.
The meat output totaled 81.3 million tonnes in 2007, with the output of egg at 30.3 tonnes and dairy products at 36.5 tonnes, rising by 1 percent, 2.9 percent and 10.5 percent respectively.
China's live pig output also reversed the decreasing trend and began to increase this September, with steady increase of live pig inventories, output and number of fertile sows.
