FSIS issues recall of Perfect Pasta Inc's frozen meat and poultry products
The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has reported the recalling of an undetermined amount of heat treated - not shelf stable - frozen meat and poultry products of Perfect Pasta Inc. that were produced without federal inspection.
Various packages of the frozen meat and poultry products were produced between December 2018 and December 2020.
The recall notice stated: "FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
FSIS posted an 80-page list of products distributed and sold nationwide, including the HyVee brand, that are all subject for recall.
The problem was discovered when an FSIS investigation determined Perfect Pasta Inc. was repackaging and redistributing amenable products in a secondary location without the benefit of federal inspection.
