Ukraine meat production increases in November

In November, the production of meat in live weight in Ukraine rose by 13.9% or 34,700 tonnes to 285,100 tonnes, compared with September, according to the State Statistics Committee.

Production of meat by private farms increased by 23.4% or by 28,400 tonnes in November, compared with October, to 149,900 tonnes. Specialised farms boosted meat production by 4.9% or 6,300 tonnes to 135,200 tonnes.

In November 2010, meat production grew by 8.4% or 22,100 tonnes, compared with November 2009.

In January-November 2010, meat production went up by 6.7% or 160,000 tonnes, compared with January-November 2009, to 2,544,400 tonnes.

The production of meat in live weight grew by 7.2% or 16,900 tonnes to 250,400 tonnes in October as compared with September, according to local reports.

In 2009, meat production rose by 0.2% or 5,200 tonnes to 2,728,400 tonnes, compared with 2008.
