Norwegian fresh salmon's export price slightly dips in week ended Dec 16

The export price of Norwegian fresh salmon during the period December 10 - 16 decreased 1.1% to NOK58.87 (US$6.79) per kilogramme compared with the previous seven-day period December 3 - 9, according to the latest data released by Statistics Norway on Dec. 19.
Compared with the same week last year, the price is 9.5% higher.
The export quantity of fresh salmon was 23,046 tonnes during the same period. This is 5.8% more than in the previous week, when exported volume was 21,773 tonnes. This is, however, 6.2% less than in the same week last year.
Meanwhile, Norway exported 256 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK61.55 ($7.10)/kg in December 10 - 16. Volume was down 46.1% than the previous week, while price was 2.7% higher than the price of the previous week.
Compared with the same week last year, volume of exported frozen salmon on December 10 - 16 was down 56.2%, while price is 22.8% higher.
Salmon is Norway's most important species for seafood exports.
