Livestock Asia 2009 reports impressive outcome

 
 

Exhibitors at the recently concluded Livestock Asia 2009 Expo & Conference chalked up a record USD 11.5 million in sales during the 3-day event. Not surprisingly, an impressive 94.6% of exhibitors indicated that they achieved their objectives set for their participation. The figures were obtained from an exhibitor survey conducted by AMB Exhibitions after the expo.

 

The Expo also saw a 23% increase in the number of trade visitors and buyers attending the event which totalled 6,194 coming from 40 countries. More importantly, 77.9% were in a position to make or influence purchases for their companies.

 

''I am very happy to come to Livestock Asia as it allows me to meet with the top leaders of our industry including farms, feed millers and food processors,'' said Mr Balusson Herve of Olmix. Mr. Chew Yew Chai of Progress Bio Pharma Sdn Bhd was equally impressed with the event and said ''We are very happy with the turnout of the quality of visitor for the show''.  Peter Schurer of Vencomatic also said that Livestock Asia is ''one of the best shows in the world. We made many good deals this week.''

 

Tan Sri Dato Dr Ahmad Mustafa Babjee, president of AMB Exhibitions, the organiser, noted that according to the survey, the Livestock Asia Expo is now widely regarded as one of the top industry events in Asia and that ''the expo had helped to create greater opportunities in the livestock industry. We have also received much positive feedback from our exhibitors on the event, especially with regards to the number of business leads gathered and the overall turnout.''

 

Livestock Asia 09, regarded as the region's premier trade event for the livestock, feed and meat industry, included international expo featuring 250 exhibitors from 42 countries as well as conferences on the livestock and aquafeed industries and the 5th Malaysian Livestock Industry Awards where Mr Vanus Taepaisithongse, CEO of Betagro Group received a Special Award for Entrepreneurship In Innovation 2009. The 5th Asian Livestock Industry Award which is co-organised by Asian Poultry went to Bounty Fresh Group of Companies Philippines for Established Integrator and Aftab Bahumukhi Farms Ltd,  Bangladesh for Emerging Integrator.

 

Livestock Asia Expo will next be held in 2011 and over 85% of booths have been re-booked by exhibitors this year.
