Ukraine 2007 poultry output seen at 900,000 tonnes
Ukraine is likely to produce in 2007 900,000 tonnes of poultry, an increase of 20 percent compared with the year-earlier period, the national poultry producers' union announced Wednesday.
Ukraine industrial poultry production is expanding rapidly due to large-scale investment in the industry, while poultry production by private holdings will remain flat at about 200,000 tonnes in 2007.
Based on Ukraine's annual domestic poultry consumption of 600,000 tonnes, the country would likely become a major poultry exporter in the next few years, the poultry union said.
