Vietnam to launch seafood quality project early 2006
Vietnam's government would launch a two-year project starting early 2006, to help ensure efficient management of veterinary issues and seafood production, prevent epidemics and protect the environment.
Over VND6.8 billion has been invested for the project, which would involve the Fisheries Ministry getting equipment for diseases and environmental testing, to improve the quality of aquatic products for export.
The Center of Veterinary and Seafood Quality, Safety and Hygiene in Can Tho city would also be equipped, to help curb diseases and environmental pollution in aquaculture sectors within the southern provinces of Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Hau Giang, An Giang and Kien Giang.
