India's poultry feed set to rise on high soymeal price

India's poultry feed products may increase by next week as prices of soymeal and other key ingredients soar.

This is according to commodity expert Aditya Mishra.

Soymeal improved by INR180 (US$3.3) at INR3,010 (US$55) a quintal. Trade experts see it rising further. Bajra increased by INR55 (US$1) and sold at INR1,400 (US$26) a quintal, while corn quoted at INR1,580 (US$29), INR10 (US$0.2) up. Di-calcium phosphate increased by INR0.50 (US$0.01) at INR36.50 (US$0.7) a kilogramme, while meat and bone meal was unchanged at INR32 (US$0.59) a kilogramme.

Poultry-feed prices were unchanged this week, despite costlier key ingredients, said Mishra. A 50-kilogramme bag of broiler-concentrates feed quoted at INR1,860 (US$34), while broiler starter mash was at INR1,460 (US$27).

A 30-kilogramme bag of broiler pre-starter concentrate 30% sold at INR1,600 (US$29), while a 50-kilogramme layer concentrate bag quoted at INR1,425 (US$26).

Pre-lay mash quoted at INR1,030 (US$19) while broiler finisher sold at INR1,440 (US$26) for a 50-kilogramme bag each. Higher demand lifted broiler and chick prices. Broiler improved by INR14 (US$0.3) at INR65 (US$1.2) a kilogramme, while chick prices increased by INR2 (US$0.04) at INR10-12 (US$0.18-0.22). Egg was unchanged at INR3.15 (US$0.06) a piece.
