China lysine producers stand firm while demand improves

Lysine prices moved higher during the week ending December 12.

Rising corn costs prompted lysine producers to stand firm to sustain profit margins. Meanwhile, feed producers, who limited the stockpiles of lysine recently, restocked inventories while hog feed sales improved. Consequently, prices of lysine increased in several regions.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine rose to the range of RMB10-10.50/kg. Tight availability will underpin prices of lysine.
