UK 2004-05 Wheat Exports 905,680 Tons To End-October

 

The U.K. exported 294,617 metric tons of wheat in October to bring total exports from the start of the 2004-05 marketing year in July to 905,680 tons, U.K. trade data issued by the Home Grown Cereals Authority, or HGCA, showed Thursday.

 

At the same time last year U.K. wheat exports totaled 1.066 million tons.

 

Spain was the biggest buyer of U.K. wheat in October with 171,656 tons, with a cumulative total of 467,645 tons. Ireland bought 37,305 tons to total 94,891 tons, while Portugal was the third biggest buyer that month at 30,704 tons.

 

For U.K. barley exports, customs data show that 44,439 tons were exported during October, bringing the cumulative for the marketing year so far to 296,652 tons.
