Ukraine needs to replant winter crops throughout three million hectares
Ukraine will need to replant winter crops throughout the areas of 2.4-3 million ha, said Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on December 13.
According to him, condition of winter crops sowings is a rather complex issue. Nearly 30% of winter crops sowings perished, and 70% - in poor condition.
To date, the Ministry is developing a series of measures aimed for replanting, and also the reduction of prices for fertilisers, fuel and lubricants to agrarians.
The Ministry is waiting for results of over-wintering, and most likely agrarians will sow soy, corn and barley throughout the perished winter crops sowings.
