State-owned Taiwan Sugar Corp. has bought 27,000 metric tons of US No. 2 yellow soybeans from Japanese trading house Mitsui in a tender concluded late Wednesday, according to a Taipei-based trader who received the tender results.

TSC bought 9,000 tons at $296 a ton and 18,000 tons at 258.50 US cents a bushel over the Chicago Board of Trade March contract, the trader said.

The cargo is set to be shipped either between Dec. 27-Jan. 10 from the US Gulf, or between Jan. 11-25 from the Pacific Northwest.
