Top 10 Vietnam reputable feed companies 2022 announced

The Vietnam Report Joint Stocks Company announced the top 10 reputable livestock feed companies in the country for 2022, based on financial capacity, traditional reputation, and results of the Vietnam Report survey conducted in October and November this year, Vietnam Plus reported.

The companies are CP Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam), De Heus Vietnam, CJ Vina Agri Co Ltd, Greenfeed Vietnam Corporation, Vietnam-France Animal Cattle Feed Joint Stock Company, Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co Ltd, Mavin Group, Dabaco Group, Sunjin Vina Co Ltd, and Hong Ha Nutrition Joint Stock Company.

Vu Dang Vinh, general director of Vietnam Report, said Vietnam has the potential to develop its animal feed industry due to abundant raw material sources.

According to statistics, Vietnam's total demand for refined feed for the entire livestock industry is approximately 33 million tonnes per year, while domestic supply is only approximately 13 million tonnes.

Preliminary statistics from Vietnam's General Department of Customs showed the import value of animal feed and raw materials reached more than US$5 billion in the first 11 months of 2022, an increase of 11.5% over the same period in 2021.

Argentina is Vietnam's largest supplier of animal feed (29.8%), followed by Brazil (20.2%) and the US (12.8%).

Data from Vietnam's General Statistics Office showed corn imports totaled more than 8.4 million tonnes, worth nearly US$2.9 billion, up 8.5% from the same period last year.

Because Vietnam's animal feed industry is still heavily reliant on imports, recent international market fluctuations have had a significant impact on the domestic industry.
