Resumption of Paraguay's Meat Exports To Europe May Take 3-Years
The resumption of Paraguayan meat exports to Europe may take a 3 years period, as the government has to comply with six sanitary requirements before to apply for a new auditing from European sanitary agencies.
The requirements to be satisfied include:
- unification of sanitary services
- reinforcing of sanitary institutions
- consolidation of the anti foot & mouth disease program
- implementing of programs to curb or prevent the mad cow disease
- control of animal residues
- microbiological control
Upon satisfaction of all the above-mentioned conditions, Paraguay will then be able to resume meat supply to the European market.
