Ukraine posts rise in meat, egg production

During January-November 2010, meat and egg production in Ukraine grew, whereas the production of milk declined, the State Statistics Committee reported.

Meat production of all kinds (live weight) in Ukraine over the period of January to November 2010 increased by 6.7% as compared with the same period in 2009. In particular, over the first 11 months of this year, 2,544,400 tonnes of meat was produced.

At the same time, egg production also grew by 6% to 15,609.300 million, and milk production decreased by 3.2% to 10.59 million litres.
