Brazil secures export approval for pork products to the Philippines
The Brazilian government has announced the approval for exporting frozen pork mesentery and jowl to the Philippines.
These products, key ingredients in sausage production and other processed foods, will be traded under the existing International Sanitary Certificate.
The Philippines has become the largest market for Brazilian pork exports in 2024. This new development introduces high-demand products in Asian markets to the trade relationship between the two nations. It strengthens mutual trust and contributes to an increase in Brazil's export volumes.
In addition to the latest approval, Brazil gained access to three other Philippine markets earlier this year. These include tilapia fingerlings, animal recycling products, and ornamental fish, highlighting the diverse range of goods entering the market.
This milestone is part of a broader achievement for Brazilian agribusiness, which has secured access to 205 new international markets in 2024. Since the beginning of 2023, a total of 283 market opportunities have been established across 62 countries.
The coordinated efforts of Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been instrumental in this progress. These efforts aim to enhance the global presence of Brazilian agribusiness, opening new trade opportunities and strengthening the sector's international footprint.
