The impact of the FORMI-product range in zinc-oxide reduced piglet diets
During the late 1980s, it was discovered that pharmacological concentrations (1,500 to 3,000ppm) of zinc oxide (ZnO) resulted in reduced post weaning diarrhoea (PWD) and increased growth in weanling pigs. It had been widely used at such dosages to control E. coli F4 infections.
