China's November corn exports surge 93.5%

China's corn exports in November rose 93.5% on-year to 8,546 tonnes, the General Administration of Customs said Friday (Dec 10).

The exports in November were up 76.9% compared with October's.

From January to November, corn exports rose 29.4% from a year earlier to 120,782 tonnes.

Meanwhile, Baotou city wholesalers in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will auction 26,000 tonnes of corn and 21,208 tonnes of wheat reserves this Friday (Dec 17), the state-backed China National Grain and Oil Information Centre said.

The auctions add to government sales of grain reserves in a series of measures to stabilise prices.
