An eFeedLink Exclusive
Price summary
Prices continued to rise.

Market analysis
AA broiler
Demand for chicken increased as slaughterhouses expanded inventories in preparation for the upcoming New Year market. With supplies tight, prices of AA broiler rose for the consecutive fourth week, up by 3.2% over the week.
Chick prices jumped a whopping RMB0.80-1/chick to RMB2.50-2.70/chick. Chick availability was inadequate as farmers increased stocks in preparation for the pre-Chinese New Year market in January.
China breed broiler
Up by 2.6%, prices of China breed broiler stayed firm during the period in review. Chick prices stabilised, but cautious mood of farmers limited the upward scope of the market.
Market forecast
Limited quantity of finishing AA broilers and day-old chicks will help to underpin prices in conjunction with growing pre-festive demand.
Native broilers prices, which are at yearly highs, are less likely to rise prominently.
