France's soft wheat production may rise 3.4% in 2013-14
In the 2013-14 period, French soft wheat production is likely to rise 3.4%, state agriculture agency France Agrimer said.
Soft wheat output is expected reach 36.84 million tonnes, up from an estimated 35.62 million tonnes the previous year.
Exports of soft wheat to non-EU countries are expected to rise 19% to 11.8 million tonnes, compared with 9.9 million tonnes the year earlier, while those to EU countries are seen falling to 7.0 million tonnes from 7.2 million tonnes.
Agrimer said it expects corn production in 2013-14 to edge down to 14.9 million tonnes from 15.3 million tonnes. It forecasts hard wheat output at 1.7 million tonnes, down from 2.4 million tonnes, and said barley output is likely to fall to 10.3 million tonnes from 11.3 million tonnes.
