Russia may switch to alternative meat imports

The Russian government has issued a decree allowing national importers, when meat and poultry imports from some countries are banned because of diseases, to switch to other countries for supplies of the same amounts, according to the government press centre.

The decree was signed Dec 5 and will be in effect from 2006 to 2009.
