Adisseo customers participate in seminar, plant visit in Bangkok, Thailand

Adisseo recently engaged customers from Thailand and Vietnam during a seminar in Bangkok, Thailand, while the attendees also visited the company's production plant in the city.

Participants at the events included nutritionists, researchers and quality controllers.

At the seminar, Dr. Orapint Jintaporn, associate professor at Kasetsart University, provided insights into lipid metabolism processes governing lipid utilisation in aquatic species. She explained and elaborated the differences in the physiology and fat metabolism processes in fish and shrimp. These factors have implications on feed ingredients and costs for aquaculture.

Regional manager (aqua; Asia-Pacific) Dr. Ei Lin Ooi, introduced lipid digestion and metabolic enhancers which have been shown to improve lipid metabolism in aquatic species. Dr. Ooi explained the various modes of action of lysophospholipids (Aqualyso® STD) and bile salts (Lipogest). The mechanisms and positioning of these two feed additives were demonstrated with the support of lab and field research dataprovided by Adisseo's aqua team.

Regional aqua technical manager Martin Guerin shared strategic and practical approaches on feed formulations incorporating Aqualyso®STD and Lipogest into aqua feeds. This is especially relevant as the aqua feed industry is faced with limited availability of fat sources, such as fish oil, high ingredient costs and the need for production efficiency and sustainability.

During the visit to Adisseo's plant, attendees was hosted by plant manager Gabriella van der Veen. The tour of the plant's production and warehousing facilities provided insights into the manufacturing process and quality controls in place to ensure product consistency and supply.

Participants also interacted in lively discussions and an exchange of ideas on aquafeed.
