Ukraine intends to export about 14 million tonnes of corn this year of which 4.7 million tonnes of this crop have already been sold.
As for the export of corn to China, Ukraine will decide which company will be engaged in domestic corn sales to China. This was announced Thursday (Dec 6) during the final annual press conference, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
"As soon as we were able to resolve all phytosanitary standards with the Government of China to obtain permission for domestic corn supply to the Chinese market. We recently had a meeting with Ukrainian grain traders and decided that they between themselves distribute volume of quota of two million tonnes and decide who will export corn to the Chinese market", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
The Minister also said that state-owned company will not be involved. But by state and exporting company remains responsibility for the quality of grain sold abroad.
