Pakistani seafood exporters urge government for assistance
Pakistani seafood exporters expressed worries on the continued EU ban on Pakistani seafood, urging the government to update technological facilities to fishermen.
The technology will ensure that the Pakistani fishermen can keep up with EU standards and harvest will increase manifold.
The government was asked to provide basic facilities, including financial assistance, to fisherman and establish fish farms on a larger scale in the country to boost the seafood export.
About the improvement of boats, the fishermen said that unless the government provides them with technological assistance, they would continue to fish through defective boats.
Exporters also urged the government to appoint technically sound staff at Karachi Fish Harbour (KFH) so that the EU's reservation could properly be addressed.
