ASF hits South Korea's Chungcheongbuk-do province

 

 

The first outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in South Korea's Chungcheongbuk-do province, was confirmed in a wild boar carcass found in Woraksan National Park, Danyang-gun.


The location is about 38 kilometers southwest of Kimsatgat-myeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, the southernmost point that ASF has been found in South Korea so far.


This outbreak brings the total number of ASF outbreaks in the country to 1,708 cases in 20 cities and counties as of November 19.
