Update on Haiti's ASF situation
African swine fever (ASF) was first reported in south of Haiti, and since then, ten cases were also reported in the country's north.
Haiti's first reported ASF outbreak occurred in its southeast point on August 26 near the border with the Dominican Republic.
Between August 30 and September 29, outbreaks have been reported on small backyard farms in the following departments:
- five outbreaks in Nord-Est;
- three outbreaks in Nord;
- two outbreaks in L'Artibonite.
With the first outbreak in the Sud-Est department, the total number of reported outbreaks is brought to 11 with a total of 124 susceptible animals.
