Ukraine's winter crop failure may reach two million hectares
Ukraine estimated the winter grain loss may occur throughout the areas of nearly two million hectares due to poor harvest, said Sergei Kvasha, a representative from Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
According to Kvasha, nearly one third of the grain sowing areas have very bad and poor condition that is why agrarians have to re-sow one third of the present sowing areas.
Kvasha suggested that during the spring field works in 2012, Ukrainian agrarians will compensate the losses of winter crops at the expense of increasing of corn and soy sowings.
