China meat prices increase further in November

 

 

Beijing, Hunan and Hainan province have seen meat price increases for the month of November.

 

Hunan province of southeast-central China registered an average price for highbred pigs, mixed-breed pigs, highbred baby pigs and mixed-breed baby pigs at US$102.18 per 50kilogrammes, US$99/50kg, US$2.68/500g, US$2/500g respectively from November 23rd to November 29.

 

The average lean pork price which was US$1.69/500g in the open market reached US$1.72/500g, rising by 0.16 percent and 0.47 percent week-on-week.

 

Hunan's prices for fresh beef climbed to US$1.88 per 500g, surging 22 percent on-year.

 

Beijing's price for slaughtered pig and shin beef per kilogramme were US$2.51 and US$3.39 respectively, surging by around 60 percent from last year.

 

Chicken price in Beijing averaged at US$1.38/kg in the same period, increasing by 13.3 percent year-on-year.

 

Meanwhile, Hainan's pork price stood at US$1.90/500kg from November 23 - 30. The prices for chops and bacon remained at US$2.16/500g and US$1.35/500g respectively.
