India's November soymeal exports up 71 percent

India's soymeal exports in November are estimated at 457,450 tonnes, up 71 percent from 266,675 tonnes the same month a year earlier, the Solvent Extractors Association said in data issued Thursday (Dec 7).

SEA is the lobby group of local oilseeds and edible oils traders and processors.

It said total exports of oilmeals in November rose to 583,250 tonnes from 321,692 tonnes in the year-earlier period.

The association said the rise in exports was mainly due to strong demand from Vietnam, China and South Korea.

Total exports of oilmeals between April and November are estimated at 2.54 million tonnes, up from 1.82 million tonnes in the year-earlier period.

Exports of soymeal rose during April-November to 1.65 million tonnes from 1.14 million tonnes in the same period of 2005.
